Abstract
El PIB de Colombia creció 3,4% en el segundo trimestre de 2026 frente al mismo periodo de 2025, acelerándose respecto al trimestre anterior y alcanzando su mayor crecimiento desde el tercer trimestre de 2025. El resultado estuvo impulsado principalmente por el dinamismo del consumo público, que creció 11,5%, y por la recuperación de la inversión, que aumentó 5,1%, aunque esta última aún se mantiene en niveles históricamente bajos. Por sectores, destacaron la administración pública (10,0%) y las actividades artísticas y de entretenimiento (9,5%), mientras que sectores transables como la agricultura presentaron un menor dinamismo. El análisis señala la necesidad de fortalecer la inversión privada y avanzar en un ajuste estructural de las finanzas públicas para consolidar una senda de crecimiento sostenible.
Abstract
Colombia’s GDP grew by 3.4% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, accelerating from the previous quarter and recording its strongest growth since the third quarter of 2025. Growth was driven primarily by robust public consumption, which increased by 11.5%, and a recovery in investment, which grew by 5.1%, although investment remains at historically low levels. At the sectoral level, public administration (10.0%) and arts and entertainment activities (9.5%) recorded the strongest growth, while tradable sectors such as agriculture showed weaker performance. The analysis highlights the need to strengthen private investment and advance structural fiscal consolidation to place the economy on a more sustainable growth path.
