Abstract
This paper reviews the evolution of Colombia s foreign debt and macroeconomic policies since the early 1970s and discusses prospects for the next five years. The paper is divided in three sections. Section I consider events from the early 1970s to 1982. The evolution of debt indicators and macroeconomic policies since 1982 are analyzed in section II. Finally, section III summarizes the current debt policy of Colombian government and considers prospects to 1992.
