Resumen
Like many other developing countries, Colombia is presently in the middle of a broad movement away from the development model based an import substitution and protection of the domestic market. In this project the researcher will examine 3 important elements of the opening process: (i) the effects of financial deregulation on the financial system, monetary policy, and savings, (ii) the effects of trade liberalization on domestic stabilization of export revenue shocks, and (iii) the effects of liberalization and restructuring on the informal sector, income distribution and poverty.
Abstract
